a note to the reader (Taken from the book)

The text you are about to read was created during live performances where the artist/writer Alexandria Clark sat at a desk, typing on a laptop linked up to a projector, with the text being projected behind her onto a white wall; first at Double Take Exhibition, Surface Gallery, Nottingham and the second within Nottingham Trent Fine Art Degree Show 2007. Each letter typed or erased, each space and each change of alignment was instantly projected onto that screen, and has not been changed since it was first typed.

The artist did not speak to anyone during the performance but would hint at responses to the audience through the text.

were you there when you read this

"If you were there, I wonder how this changes things?: the parts you missed and how what you saw fits into what others read or experienced.

Right now, you are one of very few people to read this as a whole.  As I write this no one but myself has read it fully, and it is my intention that only a few shall.

And there, I leave this with you. My secrets, my world(s), my make believe and manipulation."
